With the year almost over, it’s time to reminisce on the year gone by, and time to think about the future. And whilst 2021 was both exciting and horrible in equal amounts, we want to think about the future, as that future that is both bright and promising!
Battle Royale
If you’ve read our whitepaper, you’ll know that our gameplay is based on Battle Royale. Battle Royale started as a mod in H1Z1 but has been popularised by games like Fortnite, PUBG and Free Fire, turning it into one of the most biggest gaming genres in the world. Looking at these games it’s fair to say that they now offer more than just Battle Royale gameplay, so we’ve accepted the challenge to push this genre even further using the power of Blockchain technology.
Metaverse
Many of us think about and envision a “metaverse” in one way or another. While technologies are still far from enabling an Oasis, or a perfect blend in XR fashion, the rise of energy-efficient almost gasless blockchain, NFT ownership, and play-and-earn model has certainly moved us further in this direction.
Our goal is to keep advancing in the direction of a metaverse, step by step, crystallizing it from a vague concept to something meaningful and magnificent for our community to enjoy, interact within and make it a joyful and useful part of their lives.
So how will that look, thinking about things in a few years time?
Players own NFT characters that represent them how they want to be represented. Players also own various other NFT assets, including utility equipment and cosmetics for their characters. And these characters are playable not only in Blast Royale, but also in games of our partners and even other projects utilizing them in some good way. Players can buy items on a shared marketplace to use them in some project to obtain other items that they will then sell on that same marketplace. Maybe some players will not even play games, they rather unleash their skills of crafting powerful items and intricate cosmetics for others to enjoy. And don’t forget the hub where players can just hang out, chat, have fun and maybe even watch a new superhero movie on its first day of theater release.
Of course, it’s a long road for a yet small team to reach that point. But we dream big and inspire you to do the same. Together we will reach the stars!
