NFTs, non-NFT equipment, & Gameplay Effects

Hey champions, some of you may keep wondering what are those mystical NFTs we are talking about, how it relates to cryptocurrencies, blockchain, Blast Royale gameplay and what this is all about. Let’s figure it out..

NFT means Non-Fungible Token. The fact that every NFT is technically unique makes them non-fungible. What’s fungible? 1 dollar is exactly equal to another 1 dollar, and 1 dollar is exactly 50% of two dollars — it means the dollar is fungible. But with NFTs, it doesn’t work. Even two NFTs with equal attributes may be valued and priced by their owners in different ways because of many factors.

Under the visual representation, every NFT is a data record on a blockchain. Simply put — this data is secure and stores information about the owner and the item itself — all attributes, a number, links etc. And all transactions of an NFT between owners are also stored on the blockchain and are totally visible to everyone. It’s secure and transparent, and it makes it very easy to prove ownership — only the owner (or people they trust as much as themselves) can unlock a wallet and prove ownership with this action.

Our main NFTs are pieces of equipment — weapon, helmet, shield etc. — all you need to fight a good Battle Royale fight. You can buy some equipment on our marketplace, play the game, then sell some pieces and buy different ones to adjust your playstyle.

Speaking about gameplay — all equipment NFTs have gameplay stats. Some are more powerful, some are less, but even a technically weaker item may be strategically used as an effective counter to a more powerful one, because its faction or manufacturer may have an advantage, or it’s stronger in a certain environment. It’s up to you to creatively combine items for the best results.

NFTs having different power doesn’t mean that the game isn’t fair though. The matchmaking will be gathering players to ensure a proper challenge for everyone in a match. The system of counters and in-match progression will give a chance to take down a stronger opponent.

When we will introduce free-to-play and non-NFT equipment, it doesn’t mean that those non-NFT items will be worse than NFT ones. You just won’t be able to sell them on a secondary market and your earning capabilities will be lower than with NFT equipment but you can fight and win with any of them.
