A new era of Battle Royale…with NFTs.

As Battle Royale continues to evolve, we are pleased to announce the launch of the Testnet version, which has just been released and includes NFT integration, which allows players to trade, buy, and equip their characters. Ready for battle.

As this update has a lot to unpack, it is important to understand some key blockchain fundamentals before understanding this exciting update.

What are NFTs? 🧐

NFT stands for ‘non-fungible token’. What does ‘fungible’ mean? Some things are fungible, like a dollar bill. That means that the dollar bill is equivalent and can be exchanged for any other dollar bill.

And there are non-fungible things like a non-fungible token. NFT is a unique asset in digital form that cannot be simply exchanged for any other NFT. That means that every NFT is a ‘one-of-a-kind’ item. How is that possible? That happens because every NFT is a record on a blockchain. This data is secure and stores information about the owner and the item itself. All transactions of an NFT between owners are also on the blockchain, and they are totally visible to everyone, safe and transparent. So when NFTs are transferred from one owner to another, there is a digital trail from the seller to the buyer that verifies the transaction and encodes the buyer’s unique ownership rights (new NFT owner).

This is how NFTs are not interchangeable and create scarcity in the digital world.

What is the Polygon Mumbai Testnet? 🔗

The Mumbai testnet is the test environment of the Polygon network, which replicates the Polygon mainnet.

With the testnet, we will be able to deploy, test, and execute our Marketplace in the blockchain environment risk-free.

🤩 Now, let’s get to the exciting part: What is our marketplace? Or shall we say the BLAST HUB. ⤵️

Blast Hub (Marketplace)🏬

This new game update is accompanied by the launch of our official marketplace, Blast Hub, which acts as an extension of the game.

Players can connect their crypto wallets, link their game accounts, and use their NFTs in the game using $BLST.

What are the key features of the Marketplace?

💸 Buying & Selling

Players will be able to see and purchase NFTs that are listed in the marketplace with the price, attributes and different stats available.

💰 Selling

Players can sell their NFTs with a custom price.

📦 Inventory

Players can view the NFTs they own in their inventory.

🎁 Blastbox

Blastlisted users can buy Blastboxes. Blastbox owners can open the Blasbox in the marketplace and receive 3 ‘random’ equipment NFTs from each box.

🪙 Token Vesting

Players can use the vesting tool to claim their $BLST tokens.

🆘 Support

Users in need of support can visit the Hub’s support page.

The Marketplace Items

All NFT equipment items that are listed for sale can be found on the main tab of a marketplace.

There are 5 types of game items in the game, weapon, shield, helmet, amulet, armour, which you can purchase from the Marketplace.

The equipment attributes vary from their visual appearance to gameplay statistics, with some pieces being more powerful, rare and valuable than others.

Equipment can therefore have varying effects even within the same category, allowing you to tailor your character to any play style you prefer.

🔍 By clicking on the item, a details page of the item’s information can be viewed.

Buying an #NFT item

Once you have browsed the marketplace using various search filters and selected your favourite items, you can then purchase them.

When you click on buy, your crypto wallet will pop up for you to confirm the purchase, so that your items can appear in your Inventory, ready to equip in game.

Did you just say crypto wallet? Yes. You will need a crypto wallet to use the marketplace. ⤵️

💳 Currently, we only support Metamask wallets, but we are planning to support multiple wallets in the future.

🔥 NEW FEATURES 🔥

New Login screen when opening the game for the first time

· Also new Logout button on the Settings screen

New Equipment Screen to allow players to equip their NFTs into the player’s loadout

· Also new Equipment button on the Home screen

New Ranked and ranked game modes selection screen

· Ranked Battle Royale — players-only matchmaking, with no bots and a minimum of 20 players to start a match. Organize with fellow players on Discord to have challenging and rewarding matches.

New Option in the settings menu with the ability to change game server region in the settings with 3 servers to help players around the world play with less lag (Europe, America, Asia)

New Buttons in the Game HUD

· Now is allowed to quit a match that is not ranked or that you are spectating before the match is over

· When selecting one of the specials, a cancel X button will appear on the bottom right corner, allowing it to cancel the special call

New Music for the main menu lobby and during the match

· Enjoy listening to some new music at different points throughout the match; just like sound effects, we will be adding more and improving over the next few weeks

· Enjoy listening to some new music in the main menu lobby

🛠 SYSTEM UPDATE 🛠

Only Battle Royale Online matches earn the player $CS and Trophies

From now on, it is only allowed to play Battle Royale Online if the player has 3 or more NFTs equipped in the character’s loadout

Custom Games don’t award Trophies anymore

Removed health bars for enemy players. Only when your attack hits it shows for a short period until it fades

Weapons and Equipment now scale damage and speed stats correctly

Now, all weapons collected during the game go and replace the last 3rd slot. Only when collecting the weapon from your loadout, set in the equipment screen, will go to your 2nd slot.

Looking ahead ✨

We plan to introduce several new types like cosmetic changes to your character, avatar images and backgrounds which could be unlocked in-game or traded inside the marketplace.
