0.18 Major Update | Blast Royale
In our next update, we are excited to introduce widely requested new features and content, improvements, and balancing changes to massively enhance the player experience. It’s the update you won’t want to miss!
Here’s what players can look forward to..
New Additions:
New & Restyled Characters: The most anticipated arrival of new characters and the debut of our community's favourite art style.
Golden Guns: A thrilling chance to acquire Golden Guns, with a 40% chance from green chests and an 80% chance from airdrops.
New Weapon: Assault Rifle
Squad Revival: It’s time to squad up and battle together for victory. The difference is, that you now get knocked down and your buddy has a chance to revive you!
News Section: Easily accessible from the menu for the latest updates, special events and information.
2 x Mini Maps: Releasing bitesize chunks of a larger map in development for our players to extensively test and offer feedback, ahead of creating an epic map for global release.
Brand New Animations: Characters are coming to life with animations that players can relate to and show off with friends.
Landmine Special: A new, strategic option for players to set traps for their opponents.
New Cosmetics & Currency Options: Fresh cosmetic items to customise your gameplay, alongside the integration of Coins for Blast Bucks transactions. Note, that the Raven character will now be exclusive to the store.
Blast Pass Revamp: Featuring a premium line with juicy content and a free line for top rewards. This season you can unlock Frosty Bennet in the Free Pass and Harald, Dusty and Bam Boo in the Premium Pass!
Improvements:
Equipment Removal
- Following feedback from players, equipment has been removed from the game. Existing equipment will be automatically converted into Blast Bucks. The higher the Rarity and Level of equipment — the more Blast Bucks you receive.
Blast Pass Points
- Enhanced earning potential up to 3000 Blast Points per day, with flexibility in how fast you earn them.
Increased Rewards
- 20% increase in Blast Pass points per match, enabling faster progression.
UX Enhancements
- Including default announcer settings, improved user ID display, and streamlined equipment information for clarity.
Gameplay Updates
- Adjustments to weapon information, equipment rarity upgrades, and more intuitive in-game interactions.
More game improvements:
- The announcer is now turned off by default. You can always turn it back on in settings.
- User ID is displayed in settings for guest accounts too
- When you pick up a new gun your existing gun disappears, but the new gun comes with a bunch of ammo. Choose whether you want to keep your gun and look for ammo, or switch to a new one
- When you select where you land you will see the name of the landing area. You also can drag the drop pin now!
- Improved networking to reduce the occurrence of players “teleporting”
- The aiming line is rendered on top of bushes to support strategic gameplay of scanning for enemies.
- Models of some weapons, when they are on the ground, got bigger for better readability
- The following guns changed their models to make them more interesting and representative of the gameplay: Minigun, Rocket Launcher, and Shotgun
Balancing Changes:
- Player Health and Shields: Standardised to 100 each to foster fair competition.
- Equipment Removal: A highly requested change from our player base in as a commitment to a free-to-play gaming experience.
Ammo Adjustments have been modified for better game balance.
- Initial ammo in weapons 20% -> 15% of max ammo
- Ammo pickup volume 8% -> 5.625% of max ammo
Gameplay balancing on all maps:
- No blue crates and fewer crates in general
- Not all crates are being spawned every single match
- Updated NavMesh to improve bots movement
- Updated consumable placements
- Added pickups with specials
- Pistol, SMG and Heavy MG have higher chances to be spawned individually on a map compared to Sniper, Shotgun and Rocket Launcher
Specials balancing:
- Green crates are more likely to drop Radar, Stun grenades, Invincibility and Landmine
- Airdrops have higher chances of Grenades, Dashes and Laser beams
Maps & Gameplay Updates:
- Specials and Weapons: Adjustments to drop probabilities, ensuring a more varied and strategic gameplay experience.
- General improvements across all maps, including adjustments to crate availability and bot movement enhancements.
Fixes and Adjustments:
- We are hopeful that crashes on Android devices with certain chipsets (like Mali) have been fixed
- Various navigation issues for bots
- Fixed an issue that allowed players to shoot through walls
- Rockets not flying over water
- Fame level-up rewards screen appearing in a match
- Addressed some causes of crashes at the end of the match
- Fixed an issue when players didn’t see themselves in leaderboards
- The killstreak announcer is played in the correct channel now
- Fixed an error that happened if the match ran till the very last storm zone
There are various bugs and issues that we are aware of and will continue to fix and deliver in an app store update in March.
